The Leading Change Africa Post Secondary Program in Burkina Faso continues to play a critical role in preparing young leaders for access to international higher education and scholarship opportunities.

Designed to support recent high school graduates, the six-month program focuses on leadership development, English communication, scholarship application preparation, and personal growth. The program aims to equip learners with the skills and confidence needed to successfully compete for global academic opportunities and become impactful leaders in their communities.

Over the past several weeks, the program has made significant progress in its 2026 recruitment cycle. To date, 265 applicants have been reached toward a target of 360 participants. Multiple information sessions have been conducted to introduce learners to the program and its benefits, while outreach efforts to secondary schools have helped expand awareness among prospective candidates. In parallel, discussions have begun with potential instructors to strengthen the academic structure and ensure high-quality delivery of the program curriculum.

These efforts reflect a growing interest among youth in Burkina Faso to pursue higher education opportunities beyond traditional pathways. The increasing number of applicants demonstrates both the demand for structured guidance and the impact of Leading Change Africa’s presence in the community. The program continues to serve as a vital bridge, helping learners build the academic, leadership, and communication skills necessary to access competitive scholarship opportunities.

As the application period closes, the team is preparing for the next phase, including final selection, onboarding, and curriculum implementation. The upcoming cohort will benefit from an enhanced program structure designed to maximize learner growth, confidence, and readiness for global academic environments.

Out of the 80 selected participants, 16 scholarships will be awarded locally to candidates who may not receive international scholarships but demonstrate strong merit and potential. The remaining 64 participants will be guided and supported in pursuing international scholarship opportunities abroad.

All 80 selected participants are expected to successfully complete the six-month training program, focused on strengthening English proficiency, leadership development, and academic readiness. These skills will equip them to succeed wherever they choose to study or build their future.
