My name is Honorine Wendyam Ilboudo, and I am from Burkina Faso. I was selected as a Leading Change Scholar and this has been a life changing event for me. I never thought that I would be taking classes with people from virtually everywhere.
As a Leading Change Scholar, I have the opportunity to attend school in the United States, receive some of the best college and leadership trainings to be better equipped and ready to serve my country.
Moving to the United States has changed my life and exposed me to new concepts and ways of thinking. I want to use the skills I develop in the service of my community in Burkina Faso and Africa as a whole.
I dream of a prosperous Africa, a continent that doesn’t make the news only for poverty, wars, and poor governance. I believe that we have the potential to grow, and we will. Africa is great, but she needs her children to make her shine brighter. I want to be part of this incredible journey, and I encourage all Africans to join the ship so that we can conquer our future today.
