Empowering Voices: Guest Speaker Session with Alexandra Abo Parkouda and Aline Kaboré for LCA College Prep Scholars



The recent College Prep Program at Leading Change Africa was significantly enriched by a dynamic guest speaker session featuring Alexandra Abo Parkouda and Aline Kaboré. These two remarkable women—both trailblazers in their fields—shared powerful insights on entrepreneurship, leadership, and resilience. Their stories resonated deeply with our scholars, offering valuable lessons on navigating challenges, seizing opportunities, and making a positive impact on society.


Alexandra Abo Parkouda: Bridging Finance and Education

Alexandra Abo Parkouda, founder of Apprendre Autrement, shared her inspiring journey from a successful career in finance to becoming a champion for innovative education in Burkina Faso. She emphasized the importance of adaptability, lifelong learning, and how education can transform lives. Alexandra's passion for changing the educational landscape across Africa is driven by her belief in Nelson Mandela’s famous words, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Her work has touched over 1,500 children, and she continues to develop programs that focus on early childhood education, particularly for displaced populations affected by conflict.


Aline Kaboré: Empowering Women through Fashion

Aline Kaboré, often known as the “Amazon of Faso Danfani,” shared her journey as a fashion entrepreneur dedicated to empowering women through traditional weaving. She manages a team of over 50 weavers, providing them with economic independence and social empowerment. Aline's commitment to preserving Faso Danfani fabric as a symbol of national pride and female empowerment shone through in her talk, inspiring students to think critically about entrepreneurship and social responsibility.

The session left a lasting impression on the scholars, reinforcing the importance of resilience, community support, and strategic thinking in their personal and professional development. Alexandra and Aline's experiences exemplify how diverse paths can lead to impactful success, offering our students real-world examples of leadership and innovation.
